FOXBORO — 5 Patriots gamers and coaches are up for end-of-season NFL awards.
Quarterback Drake Maye, a finalist for each Most Invaluable Participant and Offensive Participant of the 12 months, headlines New England’s record of AP awards candidates.
Vast receiver Stefon Diggs, who topped 1,000 receiving yards one season after struggling a torn ACL, is a finalist for Comeback Participant of the 12 months. Operating again TreVeyon Henderson is a finalist for Offensive Rookie of the 12 months after speeding for 911 yards and 9 touchdowns with a 5.1 yards-per-carry common.
On the teaching aspect, head coach Mike Vrabel is among the many finalists for Coach of the 12 months — which he beforehand received in 2021 with the Tennessee Titans — and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is up for Assistant Coach of the 12 months after directing the NFL’s second-highest-scoring offense.
The 5 finalists (for six awards) had been essentially the most of any NFL crew. The Seattle Seahawks ranked second with 4: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Offensive Participant), Nick Emmanwori (Defensive Rookie), Mike Macdonald (Coach) and Klint Kubiak (Assistant Coach).
