“It felt good,” Jenkins stated. “We simply knew we had it coming with power firstly. Yesterday, we had dangerous power within the recreation. We simply knew we needed to flip it round, choose it up on protection somewhat bit. Change a few issues. We have been tremendous (after that).”

The sport was a rematch of an early-season thriller on the Backyard Metropolis Traditional, which Catholic Memorial (11-8) received in a 69-64 nail-biter. This time, the Knights wasted no time taking management.

The Knights suffered a troublesome loss to Masconomet earlier within the event, however confirmed poise early on Presidents’ Day with Johnny Ramos kick-starting issues. The senior captain completed with eight factors within the opening body alone, offering the Knights a 29-17 edge.

Jenkins then stepped up within the second quarter, beating the halftime buzzer with a layup. At that time, it appeared the Knights have been set to run away with issues, main 50-34.

With 5:20 left in regulation, Lee knocked down a soar shot, bringing Newton South again inside 66-60.

The Knights then iced issues by embarking on a 6-0 run moments later. In a fast blink, it was a 74-62 contest and Catholic Memorial coasted to the end.

“This was good,” Tobin stated. “Yesterday, we didn’t play nicely. Masconomet had measurement. They bothered us. So we have been trying to bounce again. Our schedule is brutal. We had Bridgewater-Raynham Friday night time, then Masco. We wanted to get a win underneath our belts to really feel somewhat bit higher about ourselves. I’m very happy with the way in which we performed as we speak, spreading the ball round. I feel we had 4 or 5 guys in double-figures, which is what we have to do to achieve success.”

Flemming completed with a game-high 19 factors for Newton South, with Lee (11 factors, 5 rebounds) and Villar (12 factors) aiding the Lions.

We’ve bought Salem Thursday, then the event. I hope we’re going again as much as the highest of the curler coaster, and never sinking.”
