Crimson Sox followers have been up in arms earlier this week when photographs first began to emerge of Boston’s house white jerseys for the upcoming 2026 season.

As a part of photographs captured for the crew’s Image Day, followers on-line took word of what seemed to be some design flaws with the jerseys — with each the “RED” and “SOX” stitched on the entrance seemingly overlapping with the purple striping down the center of the uniform.

On Wednesday, the Crimson Sox launched a press release about these now-maligned jerseys.

“As a part of Main League Baseball’s return to the 2023 jersey template, we authorised a design for our house white jerseys, which Fanatics produced precisely to our specs. As soon as they have been produced and seen in particular person, we felt there must be extra spacing between the lettering and piping,” the Crimson Sox stated within the assertion. “In collaboration with MLB and Fanatics, we’re adjusting the house whites to attain this separation. The up to date jerseys shall be prepared for Opening Day. We’re grateful to our companions for his or her ongoing assist.”

It’s price noting that this was truly a revised assertion from the crew, with Boston’s preliminary graphic deleted by the crew.

The initial — now deleted — statement learn:

“As a part of Main League Baseball’s return to the 2023 jersey template, we authorised a design for our house white jerseys that, as soon as produced and seen in particular person, we felt could possibly be cleaner within the spacing between the lettering and piping. In collaboration with MLB and Fanatics, we’re adjusting the house whites to attain this separation. The up to date jerseys shall be prepared for Opening Day.”

Lower than an hour after the Crimson Sox launched their revised assertion, they adopted up with a second submit on X.

“To be clear, the unique design was chosen by the Crimson Sox,” the crew posted. “Fanatics executed to our specs and has been an impressive associate all through. They deserve no blame and we’re grateful to them for making the brand new jerseys in time for Opening Day.”
