    BOSTON (AP) — Alex Bregman hit a go-ahead, two-run homer within the fifth inning and the Boston Purple Sox held on to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 Sunday for a sequence win.

    Rookie Roman Anthony added an RBI triple for the Purple Sox, who captured their first sequence because the All-Star break. Boston had a 10-game profitable streak getting into the break.

    Bregman hit a first-pitch sweeper from Could over the Inexperienced Monster that caromed off a billboard onto the sphere. Could dropped his head again in disbelief after the ball left Bregman’s bat.

    The Purple Sox improved to 11-2 in its previous 13 video games at Fenway Park.

    Dodgers: RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto (8-7, 2.55 ERA) is scheduled to begin Monday in Cincinnati.

    Purple Sox: RHP Richard Fitts (1-4, 4.86) is ready to begin Monday at Minnesota.
