    ROME (AP) — A Slovak fugitive who had been on the run for 16 years was lastly arrested when he turned up in Milan to assist his nationwide ice hockey staff on the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, police mentioned Friday.

    The 44-year-old man, who was not named, was wished by Italian authorities for a collection of thefts dedicated in 2010.

    The carabinieri managed to trace down and arrest the person Wednesday after he checked right into a campsite within the outskirts of Milan, due to an computerized alert from the campsite reception.

    The fugitive was then taken to Milan’s San Vittore jail to serve a pending sentence of 11 months and seven days, in response to the carabinieri, Italy’s navy police.
