Patriots HC Mike Vrabel would like to see slight change to NFL game operations

FOXBORO — The Patriots knew that they had six seconds left within the first half of Sunday’s loss to the Payments, however head coach Mike Vrabel’s play-calling might need modified relying on the actual time on the play clock.

Vrabel stated Monday morning that he’d prefer to see decimal factors added to the sport clock.

The Patriots finally determined to run up the center with Rhamondre Stevenson on the finish of the half. Stevenson slid after gaining 11 yards earlier than Vrabel referred to as a timeout. He might need elected to name a passing play if he knew what decimal was connected to these six seconds.

“I thought of taking a shot. Is it 6.1 on the clock, or is it 6.9? I might hate to lookup there and have a go ball from the 30-yard line, and lookup and have it’s zero (seconds) and never one, after which appear to be an fool. So if it was 6.9, I might have taken a shot. If it was 6.1, I in all probability would have completed what we did, if that makes any sense.

“And for any of you which are within the know-how of soccer, they’ve thought-about that. It got here up just a few years in the past that I heard about having the NBA clock, and that is the place I believe our followers would love it. I believe the coaches would love it. Is there 11.9 and also you don’t have any time outs, or is it 11.1 and might get it clocked, you recognize?”

The sport clock really didn’t even run on that remaining offensive play of the primary half, so the officers needed to estimate there being two seconds left on the clock.

The Patriots finally settled for a discipline aim on the finish of the half to make the rating 24-7. The protection allowed touchdowns in 4 straight possessions within the second half, whereas the Patriots scored only one extra landing, leading to a 35-31 loss.
