    Aerin Frankel posts shutout, Boston Fleet shut out Vancouver – Boston Herald

    BOSTON (AP) — Abby Newhook and Jill Saulnier scored targets, Aerin Frankel stopped 21 pictures for her second shutout of the season, and the Boston Fleet defeated the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Wednesday evening in PWHL motion.

    Frankel matches her personal Fleet file with one objective allowed within the final two video games. She has allowed just one objective in three video games this season.

    On Newhook’s opening objective, Goldeneyes goalie Emerance Maschmeyer made back-to-back saves, however the second rebound got here to Newhook who slipped it in for a 1-0 lead at 5:02. It was Newhook’s second objective this season.

    Jill Saulnier added an unassisted objective 6:40 into the third interval. It was her first objective of the season.

    Boston (3-0-0-0) dominated the primary interval, attacking the web with 19 pictures to 2 for Vancouver (0-1-0-3). The second interval was a lot tighter, with Boston holding a 7-6 edge in pictures. For the sport, Boston outshot Vancouver 31-21.

    Maschmeyer has native ties to Boston, having performed at Harvard. She was inducted into the Beanpot Corridor of Fame in 2023.
