    Joe Mazzulla shares update on injured Celtics wing

    Celtics wing Josh Minott missed his second consecutive recreation Friday evening.

    Boston dominated Minott out for its matchup towards the Toronto Raptors at TD Backyard with a left ankle sprain. Requested about Minott’s prognosis throughout his pregame information convention, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla stated he had “no concept” how the 23-year-old suffered his harm.

    “He’s received an ankle sprain,” Mazzulla stated. “We’ll take it daily and see how he will get higher.”

    Minott fell out of Mazzulla’s rotation earlier than his harm. Over a six-game stretch from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, he noticed the ground simply as soon as, logging three garbage-time minutes in a blowout win over the Los Angeles Clippers. He was a constant contributor earlier within the season, showing in 28 of Boston’s first 29 video games with 10 begins.

    Minott was not on the bench for Wednesday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets.

    The one different Celtics participant unavailable for Friday’s recreation was Jayson Tatum, who has but to debut this season as he works his method again from Achilles surgical procedure. The Raptors had been lacking three starters, ruling out Jakob Poeltl (again), Brandon Ingram (thumb) and Scottie Barnes (knee).

    Ingram is Toronto’s main scorer this season (21.8 factors per recreation). Barnes leads the group in rebounds (8.4 per recreation), steals (1.3) and blocks (1.5).

    “Subsequent man up,” Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic stated pregame. “We’ve received to play to our normal.”

    The 23-13 Celtics entered the Atlantic Division conflict with the third-best report within the Jap Convention. Toronto sat only one recreation again in fourth place.
